Career Robin Warren
Robin Warren is a Fremantle based artist who has led a rewarding artistic career for the past twenty years. Warren's artworks are free of formal training and cultural conditioning therefore offering a raw uninhibited approach. This fresh extraordinary approach to art is known as 'Outsider Art'. He has had numerous professional mentorships and private lessons to enhance his natural style.
After nearly forty group shows Warren has maintained an active presence in the Western Australian art world. In addition to being in The Permanent Contemporary Collection at IMMA and in the Outsider Collection, Warren has works in The Dr Harold Shenberg Collection, The Law courts of Western Australia, The Sir James Galway Collection in New York and Switzerland , as well as in numerous private collections. His most recent solo show was exhibited at DADAA's Freight Gallery.
Robin's recent solo exhibition "Mostly Myths and Morphs Dec 2015 to Jan 2016 was held at the City Library Gallery Melbourne in October 2016.
"Robin's Review" 20 years retrospective of works by Robin Warren has its opening night on Friday 11th March 2016 at 6.30pm and runs till 27th March 2016. It will be held at the Freight Gallery: 21 Beach Street (opposite East St Jetty) Fremantle, WA Monday - Friday 10am to 4pm, Sundays 11am - 4pm
Robin has been offered an exhibition in the Brunswick Street Gallery, Melbourne which will be held in October 2016.
in 2017, Robin has been invited to take part in, and produce works for a concert honouring his Great Uncle who was awarded a VC in WW1.

Robin won WA Citizen of the Year Syd Donovan Youth Arts Award
1997
Robin received a Queen’s Trust Award.
One of Robin's paintings was translated into a large-scale tapestry by the Victorian Tapestry Workshop, Melbourne.

One highlight of Robin's professional career was having three of his works purchased by the prestigious Musgrave Kinley Outsider Collection; “Hand head”, “Broken City” & “Untitled” which are presently housed in the Whitworth Gallery, Manchester, UK.
1999
Robin was nominated for the Medibank Private Arts Award "Outstanding Achievement" in The Young Australian of the Year Awards.
2002
The Irish Museum of Modern Art [IMMA] first saw Robin’s drawings when they were included in "The Outsider" collection hosted there. One of his drawings, "Hand head", was chosen to be one of only 60 pieces selected from their entire collection in the exhibition ‘En Visage’, held at IMMA.
2003
IMMA chose Robin's drawing “Lost in Space” to be part of their Permanent Contemporary Collection.

2005 on-going: Development of transferring designs on to large canvases, crockery and T shirts
2013
Of particular note was a year long mentorship with DADAA which led to the ‘Here&Now13’ exhibition held at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, Perth WA. Warren was selected via a short listed panel process to exhibit at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

These works then toured to the Regional Arts Australia Summit 2014.
